What you’ll see when we meet!

Who Am I?

Good question and a great question to explore in therapy. Identity is a very worthwhile thing to explore, for all of us. While I can’t answer it for you, I can take a stab at it for me.

I am…a psychologist…a geek AND a nerd…a theater buff…a golf enthusiast (though I am beyond terrible at it!)…a wife…a dog and cat mom…a car enthusiast. I grew up in a tiny town in VA, and currently live in North Carolina with my wife, 2 spoiled Italian greyhounds named Gucci and George, a chug named Frank, an ancient cat named PooPoo Kitty, and a fiesty ginger tabby named Zander.

I have several degrees, the most relevant for our purposes being a PsyD in clinical psychology. I’ve been working in mental health for around 22 years (yes, I know I am aging myself!) and love helping people find their best selves. I have worked with LGBTQIA+ folks mostly, and more recently have been working with the neurodivergent community, both as a therapist and doing autism and ADHD assessments. And yes, I do still do autism assessments through Prosper Health, or will in a few weeks, around June 2025. I also work with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, adjustment disorders, stress, life transitions, PTSD, trauma, and other conditions. If you’re unsure whether I work with a certain condition, just ask.

When I work with people, I technically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which, for me, means I ask a lot of questions to help you find your answers, and guide you to figure out what path you want to take. Everyone’s journey is different, and I’m devoted to helping you find the one that works best for you.
